The National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) is an international trade association responsible for carefully monitoring and evaluating the performance and standards of ethics of information destruction companies. Our team is happy to report that FileShred was recently awarded NAID’s AAA Certification, recognizing our policies and procedures as being in top compliance with industry requirements.
How Does NAID Work?
To be AAA-certified with NAID, data destruction companies are thoroughly audited in the plant, in the field, and in their written policies. The majority of these audits are not scheduled, ensuring companies act in compliance all year round, not just when they know they’re being evaluated. NAID reviews employee screening and training, destruction equipment, confidentiality agreements, security measures, and more, and customers can even request audit reports to be performed. The goal of NAID is to make sure data destruction companies operate ethically and securely in accordance with all industry specifications consistently, and to make these findings transparent to the public.
